Ozarks Celebrates NCAA III Week

The University of the Ozarks Athletic Department participated in the 11th annual NCAA Division III Week from April 4-10.

Clarksville, Ark.-The University of the Ozarks Athletic Department participated in the 11th annual NCAA Division III Week from April 4-10.

Ozarks joined 446 Division III schools and 44 conferences in the nationwide celebration of DIII Week. The event is part of Division III's Identity Initiative, which was introduced in 2010 to sharpen the division's identity and to enable schools and conferences to more effectively explain why they prefer to compete in Division III. The initiative has been guided by a strategic-positioning platform, describing Division III as a place where student-athletes can "follow your passions and develop your potential," within an approach that combines rigorous academics, competitive sports and an opportunity to pursue other interests.

To celebrate Division III Week, videos featuring members of the campus Student-Athlete Advisory Committee were highlighted on the athletic department social media channels. The feature videos were produced by Johnathan Smith, a men's soccer player and video content manager for the Sports Information Office. The athletic department also served donuts to the student-athletes on Wednesday as part of Student-Athlete Appreciation Day.

Over 195,000 students compete in NCAA Division III.
