Clarksville, Ark.-Freshman Ryan Holt won the 8K Ozarks Invitational and led the men's cross country team to a fourth-place finish Saturday morning in Clarksville.
Holt, a native of Ireland, posted a winning time of 26:31 against a pair of NCAA II institutions and one NAIA program. Holt beat UA-Fort Smith's TaTaris Earnest by more than 20 seconds. Earnest finished second with a time of 26:58. Holt wasn't the only Eagle that was impressive as senior Matt Friant finished seventh running a 28:42. Ozarks placed third as a team.
On the women's side, UA-Fort Smith won the 5K team title while Ozarks finished sixth overall. Senior Kara Willbanks was Ozarks top finisher running a 22:31 and placed 24th overall.
