Men’s Cross Country Team Finishes Eighth At ASC Cross Country Championships; Cummings Wins Fred Jacoby Sportsmanship Award

Tyler, Texas-The U of O men's cross country team finished eighth at the American Southwest Conference 8K championships Saturday and senior Andrew Cummings was voted the ASC Fred Jacoby Sportsmanship Award winner for men's cross country.

Ozarks' top finisher was Cummings, who ran a 31:05, good enough for 40th place. Behind Cummings was Cade Edwards (32:01 – 59th), Robert Elder (32:10 – 61st), Oscar Anzures (35:15 – 74th), Samuel Binns (36:11 – 78th) and Scott Eibes (36:13 – 79th).

Ozarks collected 214 points for its eighth-place finish. Texas-Tyler won the race with 19 points.

Cummings, a senior from Mansfield, Texas, received the Sportsmanship Award for his positive attitude and leadership within the team, according to Head Coach Jeremy Provence. The award is voted on by the conference head coaches.
