Rankin Sets School 8K Record, Earns All-Region At NCAA III Regional

Newport News, Va.-Freshman Nathaneal Rankin broke the school 8K record and earned All-Region honors at the NCAA III South/Southeast Regional Saturday in Virginia.

Rankin ran a 25:25.0 to place 29^th overall. He was the top finisher from the American Southwest Conference. Michael Harris placed 67^th overall with a time of 26:19.0. Jaeden Miller placed 172^nd with a time of 28:14.7. Juan Sanchez placed 173^rd with a time of 28:19.0. Dakota Fritts was 179^th with a time of 28:28.0. Luis Garcia was 187^th with a time of 28:41.5.

The Eagles finished 23^rd as a team.

There were 220 individual runners in the men's race. Grayson Reid from Christopher Newport won the 2017 South/Southeast Regional with a time of 24:06.10.
