  • ASC Delays Fall 2020 Schedule and Championships to Spring 2021

    Richardson, Texas --- The American Southwest Conference Council of Presidents announced today (July 24) delaying conference-scheduled competition and championship events for fall championship sports with anticipation of resuming ASC competition and tournaments in spring 2021. The delay includes the fall sports of cross country, football, soccer and volleyball.

  • Nathan Rankin Competes In NCAA III Cross Country National Championships

    Louisville, Ky.-Competing in his second straight NCAA III National Championship race, Nathan Rankin finished 237th with a time of 26:22.7 Saturday in Louisville, Kentucky. The junior from Plano, Texas, was one of 279 runners to compete in the muddy conditions. The top time was 24:13.9. Rankin is a two-time ASC Champion and a three-time All-Region runner.

    Memphis, Tenn.-The Eagles placed 20th overall at the NCAA III South/Southeast Regional Saturday in Memphis. Nathan Rankin qualified for the NCAA III National Championship with his performance. The junior from Plano, Texas, placed eighth overall with a time of 25:19.0. Michael Harris was next for the Eagles, running a 26:23.7 for 39th place. Jaeden Miller placed 129th with a time of 27:49.1. Miseal Perez was 181st with a time of 29:01.0. Kenny Fernandez ran a 29:18.9 for 189th place. Aaron Capehart placed 220th running a 31:24.5. Jonathon Wood ran a 31:46.8 for 222nd.

  • Rankin Wins Second Title, Eagles Finish Third At ASC Championships

    Abilene, Texas-The Eagles finished third at the American Southwest Conference Cross Country Championships and Nathan Rankin won his second individual title Saturday in Abilene, Texas. Rankin, who also won the title as a freshman, ran a 25:53.9 in the 8K race to top 90 other runners. Teammate Michael Harris placed third overall with a time of 26:25.0. The Eagles had four runners finish among the top-20. Jacob Mills placed 18thwith a time of 27:33.0, while Jaeden Miller placed 19thwith a time of 27:34.0. Kenny Fernandez was 27thrunning a 28:02.4, Misael Perez was 31strunning a 28:36.4, Jonathon Wood was 46thrunning a 29:23.5, Aaron Capehart was 58thrunning a 30:17.9, Dakota Fritts was 71strunning a 31:13.4, Francisco Pina was 74thrunning a 33:22.8, Keeshon Towles was 80thrunning a 35:46.3 and Petron Brown was 85thrunning a 38:24.9. Rankin and Harris were named to the All-Conference First Team. Under head coach Heidi Pinkerton, it is the third highest finish for the program.

    Little Rock, Ark.-The Eagles finished sixth at the 8K Little Rock Invitational Saturday in War Memorial Park.  Nathan Rankin was the team’s top finisher placing fourth overall. He ran a time of 26:16.6. The Eagles will now prepare for the American Southwest Conference Championships in Abilene, Texas, November 2.

    Louisville, Ky.-The Eagles posted a 30th-place finish at the University of Louisville Greater Classic/NCAA III Pre-Nationals Saturday in Louisville. Nathan Rankin ran a 25:14.2, a program-best, to place 39th. Rankin topped his own time of 25:25.0 he set at the NCAA III Regional last season. Michael Harris followed with a 26:10.4 for 103rd place. Jacob Mills ran a 28:13.8 for 227th place. Kenny Fernandez ran a 29:30.2 for 253rd place. Jaeden Miller ran a 30:13.8 for 262nd place and Aaron Capehart ran a 32:07.5 for 270th place.

    Fayetteville, Ark.-The Eagles competed in the Chile Pepper Festival Saturday in Fayetteville. Dakota Fritts was the team's top finisher running a 34:52.1. He was followed by Francisco Pena (36:03.9), Keeshon Towles (38:40.8) and Petron Brown (39:45.6).

  • Rankin Leads Men's Cross Country Team At Rhodes College Invitational

    Nathan Rankin posted a 35th-place finish to lead the Eagles at the Rhodes College Invitational Saturday in Memphis. The Eagles were the top finisher from the American Southwest Conference, topping East Texas Baptist University, and finished 15th as a team. Competing against numerous NCAA I runners, Rankin ran a 26:03.3 for the Eagles. Michael Harris was 47th overall with a time of 26:17.5. The team had six others in the top 200.

  • Men's Cross Country Team Wins Second Straight Race

    The Eagles won their second straight meet and Michael Harris set a new course record at the U of O Invitational Saturday. The Eagles won their season-opener August 31. The Eagles had the top six finishers. Harris, who was honored prior to the race as part of Senior Day, posted a first-place finish running a 26:41.9. Nathan Rankin (29:12.4), Jaeden Miller (29:18.7), Misael Perez (29:59.9), Jacob Mills (30:13.6) and Kenny Fernandez (30:52.6) all finished among the top six.

  • Men's Cross Country Dominates Early Bird Eagles Opener

    The Eagles put on a dominating performance at the Early Brid Eagles Opener to start the season boasting the top-6 runners. It is the third consecutive season the Eagles have won the title. Nathan Rankin won the race with a course record time of 16:13.3. The men scored 15 points, while Hendrix posted 58 points. Michael Harris placed second overall with a time of 16:41.3. Misael Perez was third with a time of 17:53.9. Jacob Mills (18:06.9), Kenny Fernandez (18:24.3) and Jaeden Miller (18:26.5) followed for the Eagles. 
  • 2019 Men's Cross Country Preview

    The men’s cross country team made history last season and hope for more succes in 2019. The program had its first-ever NCAA III national qualifier. Junior Nathan Rankin qualified for nationals after receiving an at-large bid following his performance at the NCAA III regional race. Rankin, who’s fastest 8K time of the season was 25:28.5, is one of a number of standout runners on the team. Senior Michael Harris is a two-time All-Conference runner and senior Jonathon Wood has made his mark on the program. A large junior class fuels even higher expectations for the program, according to head coach Heidi Pinkerton. “The men’s team is looking strong and they are ready to accomplish big goals this season. We want to win conference and finish among the top-10 at Regionals. We are hoping both Nathan and Michael qualify for Nationals. Jacob and Kenny are strong freshman who can help us achieve our goals. The guys are pushing each other in training."
