Mitchell And Joslin Provide Heroics In Sweep Of LeTourneau

Ozarks snapped their eight-game losing skid with the wins and move to 12-13 overall and 2-10 in the conference. LeTourneau drops to 4-26 overall and 1-15 in ASC play. With the game tied at 6-6 in the bottom of the seventh in game one, Mitchell knocked in Jeanne Randall to give Ozarks a 7-6 victory. Ozarks trailed 4-3 after five and one-half innings, but the Lady Eagles tacked on three runs in the fifth to take a 6-4 advantage. Ozarks collected five hits in the inning. Ozarks out hit the Lady Jackets 13-8 in the contest. Jodie Clark went 3-for-3 with 2 RBI. Dana Marvin (2-5) pitched a complete game and struck out eight to receive the win. Joslin's clutch double to centerfield scored Dara Clark and Jessica Pianalto in the bottom of the seventh and gave Ozarks a 12-11 win in game two. Pianalto had a two-RBI double in the bottom of the seventh to put the Lady Eagles in striking distance. The Lady Eagles rallied from an 8-0 deficit after two and one-half innings of play. Ozarks scored six in the fifth inning to tie the contest at 8-8. Dara Clark, Mitchell and Kara Bartholomew had three hits apiece. Joslin had a team-high 3 RBI. Chanceree Catlett (5-6) picked up the win. She pitched five and two-third innings and struck out three. Ozarks will continue their series with LeTourneau University tomorrow in a double-header beginning at 11:00 a.m.
