No. 3 UT-Tyler Takes Softball Double-Header

Game one saw a combined six hits as both pitchers threw complete games, but it was UT-Tyler (17-1, 5-1) that came out on top 4-0. The Patriots manufactured one run in the second, third, fourth and fifth inning. Ozarks' starter Stephany Henson (1-4) gave up just four hits and only two earned runs in the loss. She fanned five. Ozarks (3-9, 1-3) got runners on second and third in the second inning with two outs, but neither crossed the plate as the Patriots stopped the rally.

Ozarks jumped out to a 2-0 lead in game two, but UT-Tyler came back to earn a 6-2 win.

In the first, Julie Wilkinson singled in Sarah Otteman, who had reached earlier on a single. Ozarks added to their lead with another run in the third, this one coming on a Cassie Saorrono hit up the middle to score Danielle Dirks. The Lady Eagles held a 2-0 advantage through three innings, but the Patriots took the lead for good in the bottom of the fourth, scoring three runs off three hits.

Kayla Harris went 2-for-3 to pace Ozarks. Kelsey Mefford (0-2) took the loss.

The Lady Eagles will play University of Dallas tomorrow in a double-header starting at 1:00 p.m.
