NFCA Honors Three Academic All-Americans

Chelsea Joslin, Kaitlyn Poirier and Julie Wilkinson each received the academic-based award for the 2007-2008 academic year. To qualify for the award, student-athletes must have at least a 3.5 grade point average.

Joslin, a senior catcher/designated hitter on the Lady Eagles 2008 team, was a Louisville Slugger/NFCA All-Region player last season after hitting .424 with 10 home runs and 45 RBI. The Claremore, Okla., native majored in Physical Education. Poirier, a freshman first baseman last season, was named All-Conference after leading the team in doubles (10), runs (28) and at bats (128). She hit .344 with 21 RBI and four homers. The Miami, Fla., product was a History/English major. Wilkinson, a sophomore third baseman/catcher from Unionville, Mo., started in 32 games for the Lady Eagles last season and hit .274. Wilkinson is a Mathematics major. 

The NFCA annually recognizes Academic All-America players throughout the country in all divisions of the NCAA.
