This year's participants were senior cross country runners Jessie Heidelberg and Danielle Dirks, sophomore softball players Morgan Goates and Kaci Foster and senior Lindsey Hanna who is SAAC president as well as a member of the cross country and tennis teams. SAAC also participated in the race last year. 

Hanna said she enjoys fundraising, but the actual race is her favorite part. 

"I like walking the race to meet people and get to experience everything longer," said Hanna. "My favorite part is to read peoples' shirts and see who people are there for and to find out their reasons for racing".

Hanna, who will graduate in December, hopes SAAC will continue to support finding a cure for breast cancer. 

"I hope that SAAC continues to fundraise the week before the race and all the athletes wear pink during the week to show support even if they can't race," she said. "I also hope that we can raise additional money and gain greater support and that the race for the cure becomes a tradition for SAAC as a fundraiser and an event to go to," she added.
