Lady Eagles Drop ASC Double-Header

In game one, Texas-Dallas (16-22, 5-17 ASC) scored a run in the first, but Ozarks countered with a run in the second on a Comet error. Ali Mathis then broke the tie with a two-run homer, her first of the season, to give Ozarks (7-31, 1-21 ASC) a 3-1 edge. Starter Stephany Henson scattered four hits and a run over the next three frames before the Lady Eagles' defense committed two costly errors in the sixth. Texas-Dallas totaled five runs on three hits. Nicole Ashley produced a two-out RBI double in the top of the seventh, but that would be all.

Henson (4-17) suffered the loss.

Sarah Otteman was 2-for-3 and Mathis finished 1-for-4.

Olbeter's gem in game two gave the Comets a double-header sweep. Olbeter retired the side in the first four innings, and she only allowed two base runners in the five-inning affair, both of which came on errors in the fifth. Yet the Comets led only 2-0 after three frames. However, Texas-Dallas exploded for seven runs in the fourth to give Olbeter a comfortable 9-0 margin to work with.

Kelsey Mefford (2-9) started and took the loss.

The Lady Eagles will end their season with a double-header tomorrow starting at noon.
