Louisiana College Softball Team Takes 18-5 Win

Pineville, La.-Louisiana College scored nine runs in the second inning to put the game out of reach and finished with a 18-5 win over the Lady Eagles in American Southwest Conference softball action Friday afternoon.

Louisiana College (7-1, 7-0 ASC) generated a pair of runs in the first inning and then put the game out of reach with a big second inning. The Lady Wildcats had six hits in the frame. Trailing 16-0 in the fourth, Michelle Edmiston broke up the shutout in a dramatic way with a two-run homer, the first of her collegiate career. The Lady Eagles (1-9, 0-7 ASC) tacked three more runs on in the fifth behind RBI singles from Kayla Gray and Krysten Shavers. Ozarks got its final run in the frame from an error.

Haley McKee (1-4) took the loss for Ozarks.   

Ozarks will conclude its series with Louisiana College tomorrow with a double-header starting at noon.
