Hendrix College Softball Team Nets Tuesday Sweep

Conway, Ark.-The Lady Eagles rallied late in game one only to have Hendrix College secure a 5-3 win Tuesday night in non-conference play.

Hendrix (9-7) jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the second inning and then added another run in the third. In the fourth, the Lady Warriors moved ahead 5-0. But Ozarks (2-18) rallied in the top of the fifth with two runs. With one out, Haley McKee and Molly Bowman recorded back-to-back hits. Later in the inning, Kayla Gray sliced one through the right side of the infield for a double to score both. Ozarks mounted a rally in the top of the seventh as Annie McDonald led off with a single. Haley McKee reached on an error and Molly Bowman advanced both runners with a sacrifice bunt. Kristen Millwood then recorded a sacrifice fly to score one and trim the deficit to 5-3. But Hendrix was able to record the final out to secure the game.
    
McKee (2-8) suffered the loss. Bowman finished 2-for-2.

In game two, Ozarks pounded out 11 hits, but suffered a 9-3 setback. Ozarks trailed 6-0 until the fourth when Tabitha McClane and Molly Bowman recorded RBI. Ahead 6-2, Hendrix came back with two runs in the bottom half of the inning.
    
Gray went 3-for-4. Tabitha McClane (0-6) took the loss.

Ozarks will host Mississippi College in a three-game series March 21-22.
