Lady Eagles Suffer Double-Header Loss

Clarksville, Ark.-Mississippi College threw a one-hit shutout in game one and then capped the day with a 7-0 victory in game two to sweep the Lady Eagles in American Southwest Conference softball play.
    
Mississippi College (14-6, 11-6 ASC) pitchers Ashley Vann and Rudi Aycock combined for a one-hitter to lead the Lady Choctaws to a 11-0 win in game one. Vann had a no-hitter working until Michelle Edmiston broke it up with a sharp single to centerfield in the fourth inning. By that time, the Lady Choctaws held a 6-0 lead. Mississippi College then added five runs in the sixth on five hits. Haley McKee (2-9) suffered the loss.
    
In game two, Mississippi College opened with three runs in the first frame and then scored twice in the fourth and the fifth to hold a 7-0 advantage. Ozarks (2-20, 1-16 ASC) put a runner in scoring position in the second, but couldn't push any runs across. Ozarks collected four hits in the contest. Tabitha McClane (0-7) took the loss.
    
Ozarks will finish its series with a single game tomorrow at noon.
