Clarksville, Ark.-Molly Bowman recorded a hit in Ozarks' first at-bat of the game, but that would be all the Lady Eagles could generate against Mississippi College starter Elissa Kelly as she threw a one-hit shutout in a 3-0 victory Saturday afternoon.
Mississippi College (15-6, 12-6 ASC) posted a run in the top of the first, and it appeared the Lady Eagles (2-21, 1-17 ASC) would do the same as Bowman laced a single through the right side to lead off the bottom of the first. Bailey Hames then reached base as Mississippi College tried to get Bowman out at second base on a grounder. Kayla Gray recorded a sacrifice bunt to advance both runners a base. However, Kelly forced a strikeout and an infield fly out to end the frame. Haley McKee (2-10) tossed a complete game and received the loss.
Ozarks will host Nebraska Wesleyan March 26.
