Nebraska Wesleyan Takes Softball Twinbill

Nebraska Wesleyan Takes Softball Twinbill

Clarksville, Ark.-Nebraska Wesleyan University took a twinbill from the Lady Eagles Wednesday in non-conference play.

In game one, Ozarks (2-23) rallied in the bottom of the seventh, but still fell short 7-5. The Lady Eagles had runners on first and second with no outs, but Nebraska Wesleyan forced a pop out. After a fielder's choice put runners at the corners, Annie McDonald ripped a single to leftfield to score one and trim the deficit to 7-5. However, the game ended on the next at-bat with another pop out.

Ozarks held a 4-3 lead after three complete innings. Kayla Gray and Bailey Hames accounted for RBI during that stretch. Four different players had two hits for Ozarks in the game.

In game two, Ozarks recorded only two hits in a 4-0 loss. The Prairie Wolves (9-7) posted two runs in the first inning and then limited the Lady Eagles to just one hit in the first and fourth innings, both of which came from Gray.

Ozarks will travel to Brownwood, Texas, to face Howard Payne University March 28-29.
