Winter/Spring American Southwest Conference All-Academic Honors Announced

Clarksville, Ark.-34 University of the Ozarks student-athletes have been named to the 2013-14 winter/spring American Southwest Conference All-Academic Team, it was announced by the league office recently.      

To be eligible for ASC All-Academic honors, student-athletes must be classified academically as a sophomore, junior, senior or graduate student during the competition season and have been in attendance and completed at least one academic year (two consecutive semesters) at their institution. They must also have a 3.0 cumulative grade point average (GPA) as certified at the conclusion of the academic semester in which the ASC sport championship is held.

The men's basketball team placed two athletes on the team: Spencer Coomer, a sophomore physical education major from Piggott, Ark., and Adam Geller, a sophomore mathematics major from Celina, Texas.

The women's basketball team placed five athletes on the team: Jordana Andrews, a sophomore health science major from Center Ridge, Ark; Annabel Fidler, a junior radio/television/video major from San Antonio, Texas; RaShelle Goldman, a sophomore health science major from Lincoln, Ark.; Ashley Hipps, a sophomore health science major from Greenland, Ark.; and Libby Nepivoda, a sophomore English major from Lamar, Ark.

The baseball team placed thirteen athletes on the team: Brandon Brewer, a junior business education major from Greenwood, Ark.; Nathan Cedor, a junior management/administration major from Gretna, La.; Oscar Dominguez, a junior general business major from Longview, Texas; Tyler Erickson, a senior economics/management/administration major from Cabot, Ark.; Danny Gable, a sophomore economics major from Conroe, Texas; Adam Geller, a sophomore mathematics major from Celina, Texas; Peyton Johnigan, a  senior mathematics major from Fort Worth, Texas; Tony Morales, a senior economics major from Fayetteville, Ark.; Taylor Parker, a junior health science major from  Hot Springs, Ark.; Sam Shook, a junior mathematics major from Katy, Texas; John Singler, a junior biology major from Muskogee, Okla.; Bo Thomas, a senior environmental studies/political science major from Mountain Home, Ark.; and Adam Waynick, a senior general business major from Fort Smith, Ark.     
    
The softball team placed four athletes on the team: Molly Bowman, a senior early childhood education major from Springdale, Ark.; Tabitha McClane, a senior early childhood education major from Flippin, Ark.; Haley McKee, a sophomore physical education major from Hartman, Ark.; and Shawnee Sorensen, a junior health science major from Mountainburg, Ark.     
    
The men's tennis team placed eight athletes on the team: Bishop Bass, a junior management/administration major from Greenwood, Ark.; Marcus Bobb, a senior management/administration/spanish/international business major from Ponder, Texas; Corey Dillard, a junior biology major from Hot Springs, Ark.; Bryant Ford, a junior marketing/psychology major from Kaufman, Texas; Greg Knaggs, a junior management/administration major from Wylie, Texas; Michael Skimbo, a senior management/administration major from Claremore, Okla.; Alix Tiegs, a sophomore radio/television/video major from Dallas, Texas; and Todd Turner, a junior biology major from Pearcy, Ark.     
    
The women's tennis team placed two athletes on the team: Whitney Lewis, a senior management/administration major from Hartman, Ark., and Megan Wallace, sophomore mathematics major from Malvern, Ark.     
    
Emily Black, a junior marketing major from Clarksville, Ark., and Kara Willbanks, a senior physical education major from Fort Smith, Ark., were named Academic All-Conference as student sports information directors.
