Mary Hardin-Baylor Softball Team Takes Double-Header

Belton, Texas-Mary Hardin-Baylor notched a 4-0 shutout in game one and then won game two 14-5 to hand the Lady Eagles a double-header loss Thursday in American Southwest Conference play.
   
In game one, Ozarks (10-15, 6-13 ASC) was limited to four hits. Mary Hardin-Baylor (14-7, 13-4 ASC) scored once in the first and three more times in the second for a lead it wouldn't relinquish. Hailie Gilbert (7-8) took the loss in the circle.
    
In game two, Mary Hardin-Baylor only out hit Ozarks 12-11, but jumped out to an early 7-0 lead in the first and then added four more in the second inning to take control of the game. The Lady Eagles eventually produced three runs in the fourth, but Mary Hardin-Baylor would still lead 12-3. In that inning, Beth Massey had an RBI double and Erika Henderson recorded a two-run single. In the fifth, Hannah Oler generated a pair of runs with a single. Oler finished 3-for-3 at the plate. Ozarks used three pitchers, with Gilbert suffering the loss as the starter.     

Ozarks will finish its series against Mary Hardin-Baylor tomorrow in a single-game starting at 12:00 p.m.
