Softball Team Suffers Double-Header Loss Against Rhodes College

Memphis, Tenn.-Rhodes College scored a combined 20 runs to earn a double-header sweep against the Lady Eagles Tuesday in non-conference action.
   
Rhodes (12-19-1) took game one 12-0 and then won game two 8-2.

In game one, Rhodes held just a 2-0 lead heading into the fourth inning, but exploded for ten runs in the bottom half of the fourth to put the game away. In that inning, Rhodes pounded out ten hits and took advantage of two Ozarks' errors. Ozarks (12-21) had four hits in the game, with pitcher Hailie Gilbert finishing 2-for-3. Gilbert falls to 9-11.

In game two, Ozarks scored first, but Rhodes answered with two runs to take the lead for good. The Lady Eagles produced their run off a Ryan Gibson RBI single. Ozarks would score another run in the fifth on a Hannah Oler home run to cut the deficit to 4-2, but Rhodes responded with three runs in the bottom half of the inning to gain control.
    
Oler (2-7) would take the loss.
    
Ozarks will travel to Tyler, Texas, to face nationally-ranked Texas-Tyler April 17-18.
