Athletic Department Ends Year With Four ASC Sportsmanship Awards

Clarksville, Ark.-The University of the Ozarks athletic department ended the 2015-2016 academic year with four American Southwest Conference Team Sportsmanship Awards.

The awards are presented with each of the 13 campus Student-Athlete Advisory Committees voting within the sports it sponsors. The SAAC Team Sportsmanship award honors the member institution in each ASC championship sport that best displays positive qualities of sportsmanship and fair play from its student-athletes, coaches and fans throughout the season.

Ozarks swept the basketball awards as both the women's and men's team won the honor for the 2015-2016 season. It was the third time the women's program has won the award. Under Head Coach Carl Ramsey, the program received the award for the 2009-2010 and 2011-2012 seasons. It was the first time in program history the men have received the award.

The 2016 softball team won the award for the first time in its program history. The 2016 women's tennis team picked up its second consecutive honor in the East Division.

The ASC SAAC Team Sportsmanship award is presented for the ninth year during the 2015-16 sport seasons.
