GAME TWO

Overview: East Texas Baptist University got two-out hits with runners on in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings to spoil a strong pitching performance from starter Abby Mork and grind out a 5-0 win. Mork allowed just one hit until the fourth. Mork's defense behind her was solid. Hailey Ostrander made the most spectacular play of the day when she stopped a ball from her shortstop position and threw out Corley Carpenter from her knees in the fourth. The Eagles had a pair of runners in scoring position in the second frame, but didn't score either. Trailing 4-0 late in the game, it looked as though the Eagles would make a comeback. In the bottom of the sixth, Jaela Martin led off with a clean single up the middle. With one out, Paige Lee reached base on an error and advanced all the way to second on the play. With Martin at third and Lee at second, the Lady Tigers were able to force the Eagles into a double to play. In the seventh, the Eagles threatened again as Riki Haase was hit by a pitch and Elisa Cantu followed with a single up the middle. But the Eagles were unable to record a hit the rest of the frame. Cantu had two hits to pace the Eagles.
