Michal Hylton Named Assistant Softball Coach

Michal Hylton was named the new assistant softball coach.

Clarksville, Ark.--University of the Ozarks has announced Michal Hylton as the new assistant softball coach, head coach Denise Godwin announced this week.
     
The Wayne, Oklahoma, native played at NCAA I Creighton University two seasons as a pitcher. Hylton appeared in 15 games as a freshman and 32 games as a sophomore. She posted a career fielding percentage of 1.000. Hylton played the 2020 season at University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma. For the Drovers, she finished among the NAIA's top-10 in ERA, strikeouts, strikeouts per inning and fewest runs allowed. 
     
"I am very excited to have Michal join the softball coaching staff this spring," said Godwin. "I am confident Coach Hylton's playing and coaching experience will bring our program to the next level. I am excited for her to get to work with our athletes, specifically our pitching staff. Her pitching experience and knowledge is difficult to find, so I am grateful to have her be a part of our program".
     
Hylton's coaching experience includes numerous ties to talent-rich Oklahoma. She served as the assistant coach and pitching coach at Santa Fe South High School and Wynnewood High School. She graduated from Wayne High School where she owned a 121-19 career record and led the program to a state championship. She also works as a personal trainer for Be Your Best Softball Development.
