Fultz Has Big Game With Pitching Win And Home Run

Allyson Fultz pitched a complete game and homered to help her own cause.

GAME ONE
Overview:
Clarksville, Ark.-Concordia University Texas had a big third inning and then held off the Eagles late as the Tornados won game one 7-4. The Tornados broke a scoreless game in the third with four runs. The Tornados added a run in the top of the fifth to make it 5-0, but the Eagles responded with two runs on two hits in the bottom half of the frame. Lauren Gill blasted a two-run homer that nearly cleared the batting cages out over the left field fence. Concordia went ahead 7-2 in the top of the sixth, but the Eagles rallied for two runs in the bottom half of the inning. The Eagles did have the tying run on deck, but couldn't generate the run. Mack Lucio threw a complete game and struck out six in the loss. Rayli Ruby and Gill had two RBI.

GAME TWO

Overview:
The Eagles got a strong pitching performance from Allyson Fultz while helping her own cause with a three-run home run to secure a 6-4 game two win. But it was Concordia that jumped out in front 2-0 early. The Tornados added another run in the third to move ahead 3-0. But Fultz tied the game with a timely home run. In the fourth, the Eagles scored the go-ahead run on a Sierra Jasna RBI double. Lauren Gill provided more offense as she had an RBI single in the frame to make it 5-3. Concordia did score once in the sixth, but the Eagles answered when Blaise English hit a solo home run. The Tornados did get two runners on base in the top of the seventh, but Fultz retired the side to end the threat. Fultz went seven innings to record a complete game. She went 2-for-4 with three RBI at the plate.

Notables:
The Eagles blasted three home runs on the day coming from Allyson Fultz, Blaise English and Lauren Gill.
