Lucio, Nix Named Athletes of the Month

University of the Ozarks student-athletes McKenzie Lucio and Grayson Nix have been named the Athletes of the Month for February.

Clarksville, Ark.-University of the Ozarks student-athletes Mack Lucio and Grayson Nix have been named the Athletes of the Month for February.

Lucio, a freshman pitcher/outfielder from Bedford, Texas, went 4-for-4 in the second game of the year while throwing a complete game shutout in the win against Austin College. In the Eagles' series against nationally-ranked East Texas Baptist, she allowed the fewest runs on the team during the three-game series.

Nix, a junior basketball player from Red Oak, Okla., averaged 20.2 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.5 steals in six contests during the month of February. He finished the season ranked as third leading scorer and seventh leading rebounder in the American Southwest Conference.

The athletic department announces the monthly award throughout the academic year as voted upon by the athletic staff.
