Mack Lucio Named All-Conference

Clarksville, Ark.-University of the Ozarks freshman softball player Mack Lucio was honored today with All-Conference honors from the American Southwest Conference, it was announced by the league office Tuesday (May 10).
     
Lucio, a native of Bedford, Texas, was named to the All-ASC Third Team as a utility player. 

Lucio displayed her versatility throughout the season as she led the team in the circle with 97.2 innings pitched while hitting .304 at the plate. Lucio led the pitching staff in strikeouts (52), appearances (19), games started (16) and complete games (12). In her first outing of the season, the right-hander tossed a complete game shutout, scattering seven hits and fanned seven. During the season, she limited four opponents to just one earned run. She struck out four or more in seven outings. In six of her outings, she did not issue a walk.

At the plate, Lucio recorded 24 hits to go along with 12 RBI in 30 starts. She had six doubles, one triple and one home run. She owned a .443 slugging percentage. She went 4-for-4 with three runs and two RBI against Austin College. She homered, doubled and drove in three against Mississippi University for Women. She had eight multiple-hit games.
