ETBU Women Net 74-68 Win

Clarksville, Ark.-East Texas Baptist University fought off a Lady Eagles' rally in the second half to secure a 74-68 win in American Southwest Conference play Monday night.

Ozarks (1-4, 0-2 ASC) trailed 32-26 at the half, but took a 39-36 lead on Jordana Andrews three-pointer at the 15:50 mark of the second half. Each team went back and forth for the remainder of the contest, with the Lady Tigers (1-1, 1-1 ASC) gaining a six-point advantage at the ten minute mark. But Ozarks made a run of its own and moved ahead 55-51 after Tamara Wilkett's three-point conversion. The Lady Tigers gained another lead later, but Taylor Farmer's jumper with 3:01 remaining put Ozarks in front 64-63. With the score tied 68-68 with 1:20 left, East Texas Baptist made a shot with 36 seconds on the clock, and then made four straight free throws to secure the game.

Farmer led Ozarks with 20 points and 8 rebounds. Andrews finished with 15 points and Kindra Davis and Wilkett had 13 and 12 points, respectively.

Ozarks will host Hardin-Simmons Thursday and Texas-Dallas Saturday.
