Lady Eagles Dominate Sul Ross State 91-66

Alpine, Texas-The Lady Eagles built a 43-30 halftime lead and then maintained a 20-point advantage for most of the second half to earn a dominating 91-66 win against Sul Ross State University Saturday.

Taylor Farmer had 24 points and 12 rebounds in the American Southwest Conference win. Jordana Andrews hit four three-pointers and scored 22 points, while Kindra Davis added 12 points and nine rebounds. Ashley Hipps scored 10 points and had six assists.

Sul Ross State (1-10, 0-8 ASC) got within 11 points early in the second half, but Ozarks (3-7, 2-5 ASC) moved ahead 54-36 just three minutes later. A RaShelle Goldman three-pointer at the 15:19 mark put Ozarks in front by 23 points. Farmer later scored nine points during a two-minute stretch to keep the Lady Lobos from a comeback. Ozarks shot 50 percent from the field in the second half and grabbed 30 rebounds.

Sul Ross State held just two leads in the game, both coming early in the first half. The Lady Eagles eventually owned a double-digit lead in the first half thanks to an Andrews' jumper at the 4:07 mark. Andrews had a huge first half as she hit 4-of-5 from the three-point line and scored 20 points.

Nine different players scored for the Lady Eagles.

Ozarks will travel to Austin, Texas to face Concordia University Texas January 9.
