Lady Eagles Suffer Road Loss Against Mary Hardin-Baylor

Belton, Texas-Mary Hardin-Baylor held the Lady Eagles to 32 percent shooting for the game and owned a 63-37 rebound advantage to earn a 79-66 American Southwest Conference win Saturday.

Mary Hardin-Baylor (7-6, 7-3 ASC) led only 33-31 at the half as Ozarks (3-9, 2-7 ASC) drilled six three-pointers, three of which came from Ashley Hipps. The sophomore guard nailed a shot from long-distance at the 11:48 mark to tie the game, 12-12. Trailing 31-22 late in the first half, Hipps would hit back-to-back three-pointers to pull Ozarks within 33-28. Tamara Wilkett then hit a three-pointer to make the score 33-31 with 1:15 left in the half.  
    
Ozarks would take a 47-46 advantage at the 14:05 mark of the second half behind another Wilkett three-pointer. With the score tied 50-50 at the 10:57 mark, Mary Hardin-Baylor went on an 8-0 run to establish momentum. After Ozarks pulled within 62-56 with 5:47 left, Mary Hardin-Baylor made another run to take control of the game, eventually holding a 69-58 advantage at the four minute mark. The Lady Crusaders held the upper hand in the rebounding department with 34 boards in the final twenty minutes of action. Ozarks grabbed 18.

Hipps netted a team-high 18 points. Wilkett added 11 points.

Ozarks will host three straight conference games beginning with Louisiana College January 16.
