Longview, Texas-The Lady Eagles won their second straight American Southwest Conference road game Thursday with a narrow 62-61 win over LeTourneau University.
Kindra Davis posted a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds to lead the way. Taylor Farmer added 11 points and RaShelle Goldman had 10 points. LeTourneau (7-10, 5-9 ASC) had a chance to take the lead, but a three-point shot in the waning moments missed badly.
Both teams had trouble scoring in the final minutes, with Tamara Wilkett hitting one of her free throw attempts at the 2:46 mark to put Ozarks ahead by one point. That free throw turned out to be the game-winner as neither team scored again.
Ozarks (6-12, 5-10 ASC) hit 50 percent of its shots in the first half to hold a 37-34 intermission lead. Davis hit a pair of free throws at the 5:26 mark of the first half to give Ozarks its biggest advantage, 36-25, before LeTourneau narrowed the gap to three points at halftime.
The Lady Eagles trailed most of the second half, but another Davis basket tied the score, 61-61, with 3:16.
Ozarks will face East Texas Baptist University February 1 in Marshall, Texas.
