Louisiana College Women Edge Lady Eagles

Pineville, La.-The Lady Eagles were unable to hold onto a 37-30 halftime lead as Louisiana College stormed back to take a narrow 81-78 victory Saturday in American Southwest Conference action in Pineville, La.

Ashley Hipps and Bryanna Moltz each hit a pair of three-pointers in the first half to give Ozarks (9-7, 5-6 ASC) a seven-point advantage at intermission. Hipps would score the final five points of the half for the Lady Eagles. In the second half, the score went back-and-forth for the first ten minutes before Louisiana College established a five-point advantage with 9:03 remaining in the game. Ozarks eventually fought back to gain a 71-68 lead on Moltz's back-to-back shots from long-range with under four minutes to play. But Louisiana College took the lead back at the 1:56 mark and wouldn't give it up again. Madison Sherrer drilled a three-pointer with 10 seconds left to pull Ozarks within 79-78, but Louisiana College sank two free throws to gain a three-point advantage. Ozarks did get a three-point shot off as time expired, but came up empty.

Moltz led Ozarks with 21 points behind a 5-of-6 shooting effort from the three-point line. Sherrer finished with 17 points, while Hipps had 15.
