Texas-Dallas Women Pull Away From Lady Eagles In Second Half For Victory

Richardson, Texas-The Texas-Dallas women scored the first six points of the second half to set the tone for the remainder of the game in a 72-59 victory over the Lady Eagles Saturday in American Southwest Conference action.

After scoring the first three baskets of the second half, Texas-Dallas (14-3, 10-2 ASC) held a 20-point lead and let the Lady Eagles (9-9, 5-8 ASC) get it within singles digits just twice after. The first came when Jordana Andrews hit a jump shot at the 11:10 mark to pull Ozarks within 48-39. The Comets then build another double digit lead before Madison Sherrer and Andrews hit back-to-back three-pointers to trim the deficit to 57-49 with 3:40 remaining. But Texas-Dallas responded with 15 points the rest of the way to secure the game.
    
Andrews paced Ozarks with 14 points, while Ashley Hipps and Roseanna Ezell each finished with 13 points.

Ozarks will host East Texas Baptist January 29 and LeTourneau University January 31. The game against LeTourneau is designated as "Senior Day" and Homecoming. All women's and men's senior basketball players as well as senior cheerleaders will be honored following the women's game that day.
