Sul Ross State Women Jump Out To Big First Half Lead In 66-52 Victory

Alpine, Texas-The Sul Ross State women took a big lead into halftime and then held off the Lady Eagles in the final five minutes to earn a 66-52 win in American Southwest Conference play Saturday.
    
Sul Ross State (4-17, 3-13 ASC) opened the game on a 19-2 run to build a 36-22 halftime lead. Bryanna Moltz carried Ozarks (10-12, 6-11 ASC) in the first half with 10 points and six rebounds. The Lady Eagles turned things around in the second half and eventually trimmed the deficit to four points three different times, including at the 7:49 mark. However, Sul Ross finished out the final six minutes on a 16-8 run.
    
Moltz ended the game with 22 points. Madison Sherrer added 12 points.    

Ozarks will travel to Austin, Texas, to face Concordia University Texas February 12 and then to Belton, Texas, to face Mary Hardin-Baylor February 14.
