Women’s Basketball Suffers First Loss

Walnut Ridge, Ark.-The women's basketball team suffered its first loss of the season when Williams Baptist College took a 72-69 win Monday night in non-conference play.

Ozarks (2-1) held a 34-27 advantage at halftime, but Williams Baptist (6-0) overcame the deficit and eventually evened the score after three quarters. With the score tied 48-48 heading into the fourth quarter, Williams Baptist put up 24 points in the final period to edge Ozarks.

Ozarks shot 42 percent from the field, while Williams Baptist hit 38 percent. Ozarks went 10-of-12 from the free throw line. Ashley Hipps scored 25 points to lead Ozarks, and Bryanna Moltz was the only other player in double figures for Ozarks with 10 points. Hipps drilled five three-pointers in the game.

Ozarks will host Bacone College December 1.
