Hipps Last-Second Shot Lifts Ozarks

Abilene, Texas-Ashley Hipps drove the entire length of the court and made a layup with 13.8 seconds remaining to push Ozarks to a 61-58 win over McMurry University Thursday night.

McMurry led 58-57 with less than a minute to go, but Hipps changed the outcome of the game with a clutch layup and then Ozarks (5-3) got the defensive stop it needed to secure the game. Bryanna Moltz sank two free throws with only a second left to give Ozarks an even bigger cushion.

Diamond Goodwyn came up with a career night as she scored 18 points off the bench. Goodwyn went 9-of-10 from the field. Goodwyn also pulled down seven rebounds. Moltz scored 19 points. Hipps had eight points. McMurry falls to 2-11 overall.

Ozarks will face Hardin-Simmons University January 9.
