Ozarks Women Fall To LeTourneau

Clarksville, Ark.-The U of O  women's basketball team couldn't overcome a sluggish first half as LeTourneau University picked up a 68-56 win in American Southwest Conference play Thursday night.

Ozarks (5-5, 1-4 ASC) trailed 14-4 after the first quarter and then 29-18 at halftime, but did battle back in the third quarter and eventually took a one point lead in the fourth quarter. The Eagles outscored LeTourneau (10-6, 6-2 ASC) 21-11 in the third quarter. After holding a 43-42 advantage in the fourth, LeTourneau went on a 6-0 run and controlled the game thereafter. Ozarks shot 25 percent in the first half and improved to 38 percent in the second half. A typically strong three-point shooting team, Ozarks hit an uncharacteristic 1-of-15 from long-range. LeTourneau only shot 40 percent in each half, and hit only one three-pointer in the game.

Ashley Hipps
