Third Quarter Run Pushes Mary Hardin-Baylor Women Past Ozarks

Belton, Texas-The Mary Hardin-Baylor women turned a seven-point halftime lead into a 65-45 win over Ozarks Thursday night in conference action.

Ozarks (5-7, 1-6 ASC) started the game strong owning an early lead in the first quarter, but Mary Hardin-Baylor (7-8, 3-3 ASC) fought back to head into halftime with a 28-21 advantage. Neither team shot well as Ozarks hit only 22 percent from the field. Mary Hardin-Baylor hit 10-of-32 (31%) in the first half.

Ozarks trimmed the deficit to 34-27 at the 4:28 mark of the third quarter behind an Ashley Hipps shot, but the Crusaders reeled off a run 12-0 run over the next three minutes to hold a 19-point advantage. Hipps finished with 19 points and Tyler Adams had 13 rebounds.

Ozarks will play at Louisiana College January 21 and at East Texas Baptist University January 23.
