Second Half Surge Pushes Louisiana College Women Past Ozarks

Pineville, La.-The Louisiana College women's basketball team used a second half surge to secure a 98-64 American Southwest Conference win over Ozarks Thursday night.

Louisiana College (6-7, 5-3 ASC) led 42-35 at the half, but surged ahead 64-46 by the end of the third quarter. The Wildcats then went on a 22-2 run to open the fourth quarter to move in front 85-48 with 4:52 remaining. Ozarks (5-8, 1-7 ASC) trailed just 26-24 after the first quarter as Macie Kultgen carried the Eagles with 11 points. But Ozarks would shoot just 29 percent from the field in the third quarter and 23 percent in the fourth quarter. Ashley Hipps led the team with 15 points. Kultgen ended with 13 points and eight rebounds.

Ozarks will travel to Marshall, Texas, to face East Texas Baptist University January 23.
