Hipps Hits Game-Winning Jumper On Senior Day

Clarksville, Ark.- Senior guard Ashley Hipps hit the game-winning jump shot with 2.9 seconds left in overtime to lead Ozarks to a 83-82 win over Louisiana College Saturday.

The game, which was designated as Senior Day, went into overtime after Louisiana College (8-14, 6-9 ASC) scored the final four points of the fourth quarter to end regulation in a 72-72 tie. Ozarks (10-11, 3-10 ASC) held a 79-78 lead with one minute left in overtime, but needed a Macie Kultgen bucket with 30 seconds left to gain the lead back. Louisiana College answered seconds later to move ahead by one point. Ozarks called a timeout with 13 ticks left to draw up a play, and Hipps responded by driving to her left for an inside shot with 2.9 seconds remaining. The Wildcats last second shot proved unsuccessful.

Hipps finished with 20 points. Bryanna Moltz and Macie Kultgen added 15 points each. Moltz grabbed 12 rebounds and Tyler Adams pulled down 13 rebounds.

Ozarks will travel to Texas-Tyler February 18.
