No. 5 Texas-Tyler Women Hit 15 Three-Pointers In Win

Tyler, Texas-No. 5 Texas-Tyler drilled 15 three-pointers en route to a 89-67 win over the Eagles Thursday night in American Southwest Conference play.

Ozarks (10-12, 3-11 ASC) gave the nationally-ranked Patriots (23-1, 14-0 ASC) all it wanted in the first half hitting 50 percent in the first quarter and then 57 percent in the second quarter. The Eagles were especially strong from the three-point line hitting 6-of-9. Ozarks erased a 16-7 deficit in the first quarter by outscoring the Patriots 13-5 in the final four minutes to trail 21-20. An Ashley Hipps three-pointer with 1:52 remaining in the first half gave Ozarks a 38-37 advantage. Hipps hit another shot before Texas-Tyler answered to hold a 41-40 halftime lead.
    
Texas-Tyler put 28 points on the board in the third quarter to hold a 69-56 lead heading into the fourth quarter. In the final period, the Patriots scored the first 14 points before Ozarks would eventually score. At that time, Texas-Tyler held a 83-58 lead with 3:55 remaining in the game.
    
Hipps hit six three-pointers to score 28 points.

Ozarks will end the season against LeTourneau University February 20.
