Hardin-Simmons Women’s Basketball Team Storms Back From Halftime Deficit

Clarksville, Ark.-The Hardin-Simmons women's basketball team stormed back from a 34-29 halftime deficit to secure a 70-66 American Southwest Conference win Thursday night over the University of the Ozarks.

Ozarks (6-7, 2-4 ASC) had to overcome a slow start itself, but eventually grabbed a lead in the second quarter. The Cowgirls (6-7, 2-3 ASC) started the game on a 11-6 run before the Eagles held a 15-13 first quarter advantage. Ozarks then led the entire second quarter. In the third quarter, Hardin-Simmons evened the contest 42-42 at the 5:12 mark. The fourth quarter saw both teams hold leads, but it was the Cowgirls who made several free throws in the final seconds to secure the game.

Bryanna Moltz paced Ozarks with 19 points. Diamond Goodwyn added 14 points off the bench.

Ozarks will host McMurry University January 7.
