Women's Basketball Can't Overcome Slow Start

Jackson, Miss.-A slow start and a tough shooting night hampered the University of the Ozarks women's basketball team as it lost 85-64 against Belhaven University Thursday night.

Ozarks (9-12) scored eight points in the first quarter, while giving up 21 to the Blazers. The Eagles would trail 43-28 at halftime. Ozarks never really made up ground in the second half and trailed by double digits in the third and fourth quarters.

The Eagles struggled from the three-point line hitting 2-of-24 (8%). Diamond Goodwyn was the key offensive player scoring 16 points and grabbing five rebounds.

Ozarks will travel to Texas to face East Texas Baptist February 9.
