THE BASICS
UT-Tyler had a big second half to upend the Eagles 77-60 in their conference opener. The Eagles led early in the game and climbed within striking distance numerous times in the contest, but could never take the lead in the third or fourth quarter. The Patriots hit over 50 percent from the field in the first half to hold a 40-34 lead. Neither team shot well in the second half, although the Patriots hit six three-pointers. UT-Tyler exploded for 23 points in the third quarter, proving to be the difference.
