THE BASICS
Longview, Texas-Hailey Ostrander hit a free throw with less than a second to play to lift the Eagles to a dramatic 64-63 win over LeTourneau University Thursday night in Texas. The win gives Ozarks its second straight league win and its third in its last four games. Ostrander, who only seconds earlier made a free throw to put Ozarks up 63-61, came up with her biggest point of the night when she sank a clutch shot from the charity stripe with the score tied 63-63. LeTourneau nailed a shot with two seconds remaining just prior to Ostrander's shot and nearly forced overtime. Ostrander scored 24 points and hit nine field goals in the contest. LeTourneau didn't have an answer for the inside play of Diamond Goodwyn, who went 9-of-15 from the field to fuel a 28-point night. Goodwyn also had four blocks and went 10-of-12 from the free throw line. Ozarks went to the free throw line 31 times in the game and held a 29-20 lead at halftime. The Eagles held a seven point lead with 2:42 remaining in the game before LeTourneau responded to eventually tie the contest. Destinee Manning was big on the boards pulling down 14.
