THE BASICS
The Eagles posted a strong fourth quarter to overcome a second half deficit and pull out a 75-71 win over Hendrix College Tuesday night. The Eagles trailed 33-31 at the half and 54-49 after the third quarter, but out scored the Warriors 26-17 in the final quarter to avenge an earlier loss to Hendrix. Savannah Kate Smith converted a three point play to put the Eagles in front 57-56 at the 7:52 mark. Hendrix took back a narrow 66-65 lead with 3:23 remaining in the game, but that didn't last long as Hailey Ostrander and Smith had back-to-back layups. The Eagles never let go of the lead after that. Hendrix did cut the deficit to one point with 12 seconds on the clock, but Smith and Cassie Emerson responded with free throws.
