THE BASICS
The Eagles were extraordinary from the free throw line hitting a perfect 22-of-22 and Delanei Stephens posted a double-double in a 66-59 win over Sul Ross State University Saturday in American Southwest Conference play. The Eagles have won five of their last six games. Stephens poured in 27 points on 9-of-15 shooting from the field and 9-of-9 from the free throw line. Stephens also pulled down 14 rebounds. The Eagles led 35-25 at the half, but Sul Ross made a push in the third quarter hitting 56 percent from the field and outscoring the Eagles 22-13. At the start of the fourth quarter, the Eagles led just 48-47, but Sul Ross never took the lead. The Eagles held a big 50-33 rebound advantage in the game. Hailey Ostrander added ten points in the win.
