THE BASICS
The women's basketball team is off to its best conference start since the 2005-2006 season and continued its hot streak with a big 66-57 road win against Louisiana College Saturday thanks to a hot shooting performance from the free throw line. The Eagles had four players reach double figures in scoring in the contest. Hailey Ostrander led the way with 21 points. She hit five three-pointers. Savannah Kate Smith hit two from long-range and scored 14 points, while Delanei Stephens and Kerigan Bradshaw added 11 and ten points, respectively. Stephens finished with a double (11 points, 13 rebounds). The Eagles held a 26-20 lead at halftime, but needed to outscore the Wildcats 26-20 in the fourth quarter. The Eagles shot 21-of-24 (87%) from the free throw line.
