    Clarksville, Ark.-University of the Ozarks women's basketball player Kerigan Bradshaw was named to the Honorable Mention East Division All-Conference Team, the American Southwest Conference announced Monday (March 2) following a vote of the league's head coaches.
  • Women's Basketball Team Ends Season With Loss

    Clarksville, Ark.-The Eagles had a good rhythm going to open the game, but couldn’t sustain it as Hardin-Simmons University took a 75-62 win to end the season for Ozarks. The Eagles jumped out to a 6-0 lead, but then scored just three points the rest of the quarter. Meanwhile, the Cowgirls scored 15 unanswered points to move in front. The Eagles outscored the Cowgirls 22-21 in the second quarter, but trailed 38-31 at halftime. The Eagles continued to battle hard in the second half and pulled within single digits several times in the second half only to have Hardin-Simmons rally back. The Eagles hit 32 percent from the floor in the game. Kerigan Bradshaw scored 20 points to lead the Eagles. The team’s only senior, Shakira Neal, was honored following the game as part of Senior Day.
  • Eagles Top McMurry To Gain Conference Win

    Clarksville, Ark.-The Eagles snapped a 14-game conference losing streak with a 81-75 win over McMurry University Thursday night. The Eagles led 37-29 at halftime and had a balanced scoring attack with four starters in double figures. Kerigan Bradshaw led the way with 18 points, while Hannah Weatherford scored 17. Kelsey Dixson had 12 points and Kamryn McKinney finished with 11. The Eagles made a strong push in the second quarter to gain momentum of the game. Leading 27-25 at the 3:38 mark of the second quarter, the Eagles finished the final three minutes on a 10-4 run. Bradshaw scored seven of the team’s points during that stretch. The Eagles never let go of the lead after that. McMurry did cut the deficit to one point with less than four minutes to play, but the Eagles countered with timely baskets.  
  • Belhaven Uses 26-5 Third Quarter To Down Eagles

    Jackson, Miss.-A big third quarter by Belhaven University lifted the home team to a 84-69 win against the Eagles Saturday. Belhaven had to overcome a 37-31 halftime deficit as the Eagles shot 52 percent from the field in the second quarter. But in the third quarter, the Eagles made only 10 percent of its shots while Belhaven went on a 26-5 run during that ten minutes. Hannah Weatherford scored 14 points to lead the Eagles.
  • Louisiana College Overcomes Rhinehart's Five Three-Pointers

    Pineville, La.The Eagles let a 25-21 halftime lead slip away as Louisiana College came back to win 61-51 Thursday night. The Wildcats opened play with a 12-8 first quarter advantage, but the Eagles outscored the home team 17-9 in the second quarter. Louisiana College fought back to score 21 third quarter points to take the lead for good. The Eagle cut the deficit to three points with less than a minute to play in the game. However, the Wildcats  nailed seven straight free throws to secure the game. Janna Rhinehart drilled five three-pointers and scored 19 points.
  • LeTourneau University Tops Eagles

    Clarksville, Ark.-LeTourneau University started the game with a 20-5 run and never let the Eagles back into the game as the YellowJackets won 72-59 Saturday. The Eagles had a tough afternoon shooting the ball hitting only 33 percent from the field. The Eagles made only 3-of-18 from long-range. The Eagles had a strong third quarter outscoring the YellowJackets 27-16, but still trailed 55-43 heading into the final quarter. Kerigan Bradshaw had her second highest scoring output of the season with 22 points.
  • Tigers Claw Past Eagles In Women's Basketball Action

    Clarksville, Ark.-The Eagles hung around in the second half but couldn’t quite catch up as East Texas Baptist University took a 59-48 win Thursday night. The Tigers rolled to a 18-8 first quarter lead and then held a 33-21 advantage at halftime. In the fourth quarter, the Eagles fought back to within 51-41 with five minutes left. The Eagles cut the deficit to ten points on three more occasions in the fourth quarter, but couldn’t get any closer. The Eagles held the Tigers to a 2-of-19 shooting clip from the three-point line. Kerigan Bradshaw led the Eagles with 11 points.
  • Texas Dallas Women's Basketball Team Tops Eagles
    February 01, 2020
    Clarksville, Ark.-Texas Dallas opened the game with a 21-8 run en route to a 76-53 win over the Eagles Saturday in conference play. The Comets led 34-20 at halftime. The Comets hit 46 percent from the field, while the Eagles made 31 percent. Kelsey Dixson led the Eagles with 14 points.

    Alpine, Texas-A rough shooting afternoon by the Eagles resulted in a 60-55 setback to Sul Ross State University Saturday in Texas. The Eagles hit only 26 percent from the floor and 70 percent from the free throw line. Sul Ross led 33-31 at the half. Nonetheless, the Eagles kept it close in the second half but could never gain the lead. Carly Grace Dougan, Kelsey Dixson and Brittney Sain all had ten points.
  • Eagles Suffer Double Overtime Loss
    January 23, 2020
    Brownwood, Texas-The Eagles suffered a 97-92 double overtime loss against Howard Payne University Thursday night in Brownwood, Texas. The YellowJackets had a 32-29 halftime lead and then built a 54-43 advantage heading into the final quarter. But the fourth quarter changed in favor of the Eagles. The Eagles started the quarter with a 6-0 run and finished strong scoring 27 points. Kerigan Bradshaw hit a long clutch three-pointer with nine seconds remaining to even the score 70-70 and send the game into overtime. The Eagles had more magic in overtime as Janna Rhinehart rebounded a missed Eagles’ free throw with 14 seconds left and made an inside shot to put the Eagles up 83-82. However, Howard Payne made one of its free throws with seven seconds left to send it to the second overtime. Trailing 93-87, Hannah Weatherford hit a three-pointer to make it 93-90 with 37 seconds left and Dougan later made it 94-92 with 16 seconds left. But Howard Payne made a free throw to extend the lead to 95-92 and then hit two more free throws on its next possession. Weatherford finished with 24 points behind a 9-of-15 shooting performance from the field. She hit three from long-range. Dougan had a monster night on the boards pulling down 18, including 15 on the defensive end. Dougan and Rhinehart had 15 points each. Rhinehart had five steals.
  • Eagles Struggle From The Field In Loss Against Louisiana College

    Clarksville, Ark.-A tough shooting afternoon by the Eagles allowed Louisiana College to net a 75-67 win Saturday in conference action. The Eagles made 23-of-78 (29%) from the field in the game, while Louisiana College shot 43 percent. The Eagles held just one lead in the entire game and that came late in the first quarter. Louisiana College led 32-25 at halftime. The Eagles struggled from long-range hitting 8-of-38 (21%) in the contest. Carly Grace Dougan posted a double-double with 18 points and ten rebounds to lead the Eagles.
  • Belhaven Hits Trio Of Fourth Quarter Three-Pointers In Win

    Clarksville, Ark.-Belhaven University slipped past the Eagles 65-61 in a game that went down to the wire in the fourth quarter. The Eagles led 26-23 at halftime and went into the final quarter tied 37-37. The game then went back-and-forth and it appeared the Eagles held the momentum leading 54-51 with 3:14 remaining. But Belhaven battled back and hit two clutch back-to-back three-pointers to take a 57-54 advantage. Another three by the Blazers made it 60-56 with 1:18 left and the Eagles could never make up the difference. The Eagles had a 51-30 rebound advantage in the game. Each team hit less than 40 percent from the field in the game. Kerigan Bradshaw led the Eagles with 18 points.
  • Women's Basketball Team Struggles From The Field In Loss

    Marshall, Texas-The Eagles struggled shooting the ball and were outrebounded 51-33 in a 62-41 loss against East Texas Baptist University Saturday. The Eagles hit 24 percent from the field and 64 percent from the free throw line in the game. The Tigers led 12-10 after the first quarter but increased its lead to 33-16 at the half. The Eagles never really got back into the game in the second half. Janna Rhinehart hit 3-of-4 from the three-point line to score nine points to lead the Eagles.
  • LeTourneau Women Use Free Throw Line To Upend Eagles

    Longview, Texas-LeTourneau University hit an impressive 14-of-15 from the free throw line in the fourth quarter to fuel a 71-58 come-from-behind conference win against the Eagles. The Eagles held a 48-45 advantage heading into the fourth quarter, but gave up 16 points in the final five minutes. Most of those points came from the free throw line. In the game, LeTourneau went to the free throw line 39 times, while the Eagles took 15 attempts. From the field, LeTourneau hit only 29 percent from the field. The Eagles made 41 percent of their shots from the floor. Kerigan Bradshaw led the Eagles with 12 points.
  • Second Half Comeback Falls Short For Women's Basketball Team

    Austin, Texas-A second half rally came up short as the Eagles fell on the road 59-55 against Concordia University Texas Saturday. Concordia led 30-24 at halftime, but the Eagles made a big push in the third quarter scoring 19 points. Heading into the fourth, the Eagles led 43-41. Down the stretch, Concordia hit a pair of big shots from the field with less than three minutes remaining. The Eagles were outscored 8-2 in the final 2:45 of the game. The largest lead of the game for the Eagles (39-32) came at the 3:48 mark of the third quarter. Carly Grace Dougan hit four three-pointers to score 19 points.
  • Nationally-Ranked Mary Hardin-Baylor Strong In Fourth Quarter To Pull Away From Women's Basketball Team

    Belton, Texas-Nationally-ranked Mary Hardin-Baylor pulled away in the fourth quarter to hand the Eagles a 79-59 setback Thursday night in American Southwest Conference play. The Crusaders, ranked No. 5 in NCAA III, needed a fourth quarter burst to record its ninth win of the season. The Eagles wouldn’t go down easily and remained in striking distance trailing 57-46 heading into the final quarter. The Crusaders hit 56 percent from the field in the fourth and ended the final four minutes with a 13-2 run. The Eagles shot a solid 90 percent from the free throw line but committed 22 turnovers. Kamryn McKinney led the team with 13 points.

  • Women's Basketball Team Handles Hendrix For Second Time This Season

    The Eagles handled Hendrix College for the second time this season with a 58-46 victory Sunday in Conway. In both wins, the Eagles held Hendrix to 46 points. Four starters reached double figures in scoring for the Eagles. The Eagles had a strong second half outscoring the Warriors 16-11 in the third quarter and 15-8 in the fourth quarter. With the score tied 27-27 at halftime, the Eagles relied on free throws in the third quarter to take a 43-38 advantage heading into the fourth. The Eagles held the lead for the entire fourth quarter. Carly Grace Dougan hit a key three-pointer with 4:51 remaining in the game to give the Eagles a 50-42 lead. Dougan finished with a team-high 13 points.
  • Eagles Handle Hendrix College
    December 19, 2019
    Clarksville, Ark.-Kamryn McKinney scorched Hendrix College with three three-pointers and 22 points Thursday to lead the Eagles past the Warriors 71-46. Leading 45-38 at the end of the third quarter, McKinney started the fourth with a pair of free throws to begin a 9-0 run. Hendrix was never able to catch up after that. McKinney pumped in 12 points in the first quarter to ignite the Eagles. She had 16 of the team’s 35 first half points. Janna Rhinehart provided a spark off the bench and Carly Grace Dougan drilled a trio of three-pointers to score 13 points. McKinney finished 7-of-12 from the field, including three three-pointers. Kelsey Dixson pulled down ten rebounds. The Eagles had a 42-26 rebound advantage in the game.

    Austin College scored 24 points in the fourth quarter to hand the Eagles a 80-61 setback Saturday in Texas. Austin College held a 38-29 halftime lead and continued its lead for the rest of the game. Kamryn McKinney drilled a three-pointer at the 2:49 mark of the third quarter to pull the Eagles within 49-42. But that would be the closest the Eagles would get in the second half. Carly Grace Dougan scored 14 points to lead the Eagles. She made two three-pointers in the contest.
  • Fourth Quarter Run Not Enough In Women's Basketball ASC Opener
    December 04, 2019
    Richardson, Texas-The Eagles had a strong fourth quarter outscoring Texas Dallas 21-9, but the Comets hung on for a 59-45 win in each team’s American Southwest Conference opener Wednesday night. The Comets jumped out to a 21-8 lead after the first quarter and then built a 36-18 advantage at the half. The Eagles entered the fourth quarter trailing 50-24, but got a spark from Janna Rhinehart, who scored 10 points. The Eagles closed the gap to 12 points, but ran out of time. Rhinehart finished with a team-best 12 points. Both teams had a tough time shooting the ball as the Eagles hit only 29 percent from the field, while Texas Dallas hit just 32 percent in the game. The Comets grabbed 52 rebounds and the Eagles pulled down 37.
  • Bandimere, McKinney Combine For 35 Points And Seven Three-Pointers

    Clarksville, Ark.-Maegan Bandimere and Kamryn McKinney combined to hit seven three-pointers and score 35 points to lead the University of the Ozarks to a 73-47 win Tuesday night over University of Dallas. It was the Eagles third straight win. McKinney started the game off with a three-pointer and the Eagles trailed just once in the entire game (first quarter). Bandimere went to work quickly to start the second quarter hitting back-to-back-to-back three-pointers. McKinney later responded with a three-pointer of her own. The Eagles led 42-26 at the half behind Bandimere’s 11 points and McKinney’s 14 points. The Eagles shot an impressive 62 percent from the field in the second quarter. In the third and fourth quarters, the Crusaders could do little to slow down the Eagles. Bandimere drilled a three-pointer at the 6:44 mark of the third quarter to put the Eagles up 49-28. The lead ballooned to 61-33 to start the fourth. Overall, the Eagles forced 21 turnovers and limited the Crusaders to a 28 percent shooting clip from the field. Bandimere ended with 19 points and five three-pointers. McKinney finished with 16 points. Hannah Weatherford pulled down a team-best nine rebounds while Kerigan Bradshaw dished out a team-high seven assists.
  • Clutch Shots Lift Eagles Past Birmingham-Southern

    Jackson, Miss.-The trio of Kerigan Bradshaw, Kamryn McKinney and Hannah Weatherford scored 46 points in a 65-63 win over Birmingham-Southern College and push the Eagles to an undefeated slate in the Millsaps College Tournament. In Sunday's game against Birmingham-Southern, the Eagles got two late shots from Weatherford and Bradshaw to secure the game. With the score tied 61-61 with less than 30 seconds remaining, Weatherford put the Eagles in front with a bucket at the 20-second mark. Birmingham-Southern answered with a shot to even the game. But Bradshaw hit a clutch layup with seven ticks on the clock. Birmingham-Southern then missed its ensuing shot in the final moment. The Eagles shot 47 percent from the floor in the game. Bradshaw ended with 18 points, while McKinney had 16 and Weatherford had 12. Kelsey Dixson had 11 rebounds.
