Clarksville, Ark.–The University of the Ozarks women's basketball team qualified for the playoffs under first-year head coach Kourtni Williams last season and now aim for even greater things in 2019-2020. Williams lost three starters, but returns a strong group of players and a strong recruiting class. The Eagles finished 13-13 last season. "One of our strengths will be our depth at the guard spot," said Williams. "We can keep players fresh by rotating different individuals in and out. For that reason, we want to push the ball more in transition. I think we can play multiple people at different positions. We lack size so we will need to do some things strategically to help with that." Returning starters include sophomore guard Kerigan Bradshaw, junior guard Kamryn McKinney and sophomore forward Hannah Weatherford. Bradshaw averaged over six points per game, while McKinney and Weatherford averaged 5.8 and 4.2 points, respectively. Clarksville native Grace Dougan is expected to be a key player for the Eagles. "We want to make it back to the conference tournament," said Williams. "We want to leave everything out on the court and enjoy the moment. Half of our team is new so it may take some time to create cohesiveness."
