Belhaven Hits Trio Of Fourth Quarter Three-Pointers In Win

Hannah Weatherford and the Eagles lost a heart-breaker to Belhaven Thursday night.

THE BASICS
Belhaven University slipped past the Eagles 65-61 in a game that went down to the wire in the fourth quarter. The Eagles led 26-23 at halftime and went into the final quarter tied 37-37. The game then went back-and-forth and it appeared the Eagles held the momentum leading 54-51 with 3:14 remaining. But Belhaven battled back and hit two clutch back-to-back three-pointers to take a 57-54 advantage. Another three by the Blazers made it 60-56 with 1:18 left and the Eagles could never make up the difference. The Eagles had a 51-30 rebound advantage in the game. Each team hit less than 40 percent from the field in the game. Kerigan Bradshaw led the Eagles with 18 points.
