Eagles To Recognize 50th Anniversary Of Title IX

The University of the Ozarks Athletic Department will recognize the 50th anniversary of Title IX during halftime of the women?s basketball game on Saturday, Feb. 19 in Mabee Gymnasium. The celebration commemorates the anniversary of the landmark federal law signed in 1972 that prohibits gender discrimination in educational programs and activities and provided additional athletic opportunities for women.

Clarksville, Ark.-The University of the Ozarks Athletic Department will recognize the 50th anniversary of Title IX during halftime of the women's basketball game on Saturday, Feb. 19 in Mabee Gymnasium. The celebration commemorates the anniversary of the landmark federal law signed in 1972 that prohibits gender discrimination in educational programs and activities and provided additional athletic opportunities for women.

Due to COVID-19 protocols, the University has limited tickets for the game and people are encouraged to tune-in via livestream at https://portal.stretchinternet.com/ozarks/.

As part of the celebration, several former female Eagle athletes will be recognized, including Mandi Koch '07 (soccer), Sarah Clark '17 (basketball), Sydney Key '21 (softball), Hannah Smith '19 (cross country and track), Jacquelyn Gearhart '21 (swimming), Whitney Lewis '14 (tennis), Grace Brown '18 (shooting sports) and former coach and instructor Levada Qualls '55 .

The men's and women's basketball games against LeTourneau University are the regular-season finales for both teams and seniors for both programs will be honored prior to their respective games. The women's game against LeTourneau University begins at 1 p.m., followed by the men's game at around 3 p.m.
