Forbes, Turpin Receive All-Conference Honors 

Judy Forbes and Amanda Turpin were named All-Conference.

Clarksville, Ark.-The American Southwest Conference (ASC) announced its selection of All-Conference Women's Basketball players on Wednesday (March 1).
     
Senior forward Judy Forbes was named to the All-ASC Honorable Mention Team and the ASC All-Defensive Team. Junior forward Amanda Turpin was named to the All-ASC Honorable Mention Team.

Forbes, a native of the Bahamas, was again among the top rebounders and shot blockers in the league. The 6-foot-1 Forbes ranked second in the ASC in rebounding (8.4) and blocked shots (1.4). She shot nearly 50 percent from the field. She averaged nearly 11 rebounds per game in her first six games of the season and had seven games with ten or more rebounds.  She pulled down a season-high 19 rebounds against Austin College. She had four blocks against three different opponents. She posted a double-double against McMurry with 12 points and 15 rebounds. A starter in 23 games, she averaged 4.9 points per game. She ends her career with 72 blocked shots and 367 rebounds.

Turpin, a native of Cypress, Texas, was an ASC top-10 scorer averaging 11.3 points per game. The 6-foot-1 Turpin was also among the league's top three-point shooters ranking 18th in three-pointers made per game (1.1). She ranked tenth in the ASC in blocked shots per game (.8). She hit 27 three-pointers while ranking second on the team in rebounding (4.3). She also led the team in steals with 1.2. In 25 games played, she reached double figures in scoring 15 times and hit a three-pointer in 16 games. Against Howard Payne, she scored a season-high 31 points and posted a double-double against McMurry. She would later drill four three-pointers against McMurry in January. She was named ASC Player of the Week once during the season.
